Project Description
Keller Mechanical & Engineering performed construction and development services for Thatcher Chemical & Pharmaceutical. The 5-acre site consisted of a 35,000-square-foot contained chemical manufacturing area, 5,000-square-foot building houses, maintenance area, boiler and electrical MCC. Railcar unloading stations and truck loading and transfer stations surround the manufacturing area. Overhead cranes distribute raw material to the manufacturing area while a series of pumps and manifolds distribute between storage tanks and chemical reactors. 2,800-square-feet of elevated platforms were custom fabricated to allow safe access to the manufacturing equipment, tanks and valves. Additional modular outdoor containment allows Thatcher to arrange raw and bulk material storage to meet chemical manufacturing needs.
